Privacy Policy

Cricket Diaries, part of the Sport Diaries family of apps · Last updated 7 September 2026

This policy explains what information Cricket Diaries collects, why, and how you can control it. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate — if anything is unclear, contact us at the address at the bottom.

Who this covers

This policy applies to anyone using the Cricket Diaries app — Players, Coaches, and Club Admins — regardless of which club or academy invited you.

Information we collect

Account information. Your name and email address, collected when you sign up, and the role you're assigned (Player, Coach, or Club Admin).

Training data. The sessions you or your coach log or plan — dates, times, duration, drills, written notes, and an optional mood rating. If you choose to, you can attach a location to a session or use your voice to dictate notes (speech is converted to text on your device or via your phone's operating system; we don't store the audio itself).

Club and connection data. Club names, who's invited or accepted membership in a club, and which Coach is paired with which Player.

Paid session records. If your club admin allocates you a package of paid sessions, we store the count and an optional expiry date so the app can track how many you've used. Cricket Diaries does not process payments or store payment card details — allocation is a manual credit-tracking feature your club admin controls, not a billing system.

Device push token. If you allow notifications, we store a token identifying your device so we can deliver them — this isn't tied to your identity beyond your own account.

How we use it

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or run analytics/tracking SDKs in the app.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the app — each only processes what it needs to do its job:

Supabase — hosts our database and handles sign-in. This is where your account and training data actually lives.

Resend — delivers notification emails on our behalf (e.g. "a session has been proposed"). It sees your email address and the message content, nothing more.

Apple and Google — deliver push notifications to your device via their standard platform services (APNs / FCM).

Within a club, your Club Admin can see the full training history of players in their club, and a Coach can see sessions they're tagged in — that visibility is a deliberate part of how the app works, not a data leak. An admin never sees another club's data.

Children's privacy

Cricket academies often train players under 18. Cricket Diaries doesn't independently verify a Player account's age — in practice, a Club Admin or parent/guardian typically sets up or manages a younger player's account. If you're a parent or guardian and want to review, correct, or delete a child's information, contact us at the address below and we'll act on it directly.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time directly in the app — no need to email us — from the Home screen if you're a Player or Coach, or from Settings if you're a Club Admin.

Deleting your account immediately and permanently disables sign-in, and replaces your name and username with a generic placeholder. Training records you've already logged — sessions, stats, and goals — remain as part of your club's training history, so coaches and admins keeping attendance or progress records aren't left with gaps, but they're no longer linked to your name or account in any way. If you're a Club Admin, your club and its other members' records stay active. This is permanent and cannot be undone.

If you'd rather we handle a deletion request for you, or can't access the app, email support@sport-diaries.app and we'll do it on your behalf.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain uses of it. We honour these requests regardless of jurisdiction — email us and we'll sort it out.

Security

We rely on our infrastructure providers' security practices (encryption in transit, access-controlled databases) and keep access to production data limited to what's needed to operate the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
